Biography

Non-Equity Partner at CN&R at the Litigation Department with ample experience in Environmental Law, working closely with the transactional arm of the firm. She assists and represents financial institutions and other clients in all matters related to CERCLA (Superfund), RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Oil Pollution Act, as well as other federal and local environmental laws, including prior to the issuance of mortgage loans, mortgage foreclosures, other real estate transactions, lender’s liability matters, branch site selection, permitting issues, enforcement and regulatory compliance, remediation and corrective actions in administrative and litigation processes before the EQB, USACE, EPA, Department of Natural and Environmental Resource (DNER), PREPA, and PRASA and state and federal courts. Mrs. González-Díaz also represents clients before the Puerto Rico Department of Treasury and the Department of Consumer Affairs (DACO) in matters related to construction law, banking, retail sales and advertising practices, sales and use taxes and others. She also litigates ADA (Title III) claims in federal court, as well as horizontal property regime cases. The following are among her significant Supreme Court publications: Puerto Rico Freight System v. Compañía para el Desarrollo de las Exportaciones, 2012 TSPR 158 (culpa in contrahendo); Consejo de Titulares Condominio Portal de Sofía v. Portal de Sofía, Inc., 2011 TSPR 76, (Act 103 of 2003 Horizontal Property Regime and temporary administration, transition committees, maintenance fees, administrative law); DACO v. Junta de Directores del Condominio Sandy Hills, 2006 TSPR 177,(Act 103, Administrative Law). Mrs. González-Díaz is a member of the Puerto Rico Bar and is authorized to practice before the United States Court of Appeals, First Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico; the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims; the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit; the United States Tax Court; the United States Court of International Trade; the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces; and the United States Supreme Court. She has a B.S. in Biology (1996), and her J.D. (1999) and a Master in Public Administration Magna Cum Laude (2002) all from the University of Puerto Rico. She also has a Master of Laws (LLM) in United States and Global Business Law from Suffolk University (2010), and an LLM in International Commercial Practice from Boston University and Lazarski University in Poland with High Honors (2015). Mrs. González-Díaz participated in a Summer Internship in Beijing, China at the Beijing Political Sciences and Law University/Duchesne University School of Law in 1998.
